Week 5: Finalizing Software, Poster Design, and Blog Development
In the fifth week, we focused on finalizing the software, designing the project poster, and preparing for the bench inspection. Additionally, we worked on refining our blog, ensuring that it effectively documented the progress and technical aspects of our humidifier project.
1. Software Finalization
With most of the core functionalities implemented in previous weeks, our main objective this week was to:
- Debug and optimize the existing code to enhance system reliability.
- Conduct final testing to ensure all functionalities—including Wi-Fi connectivity, automatic humidity control, and Blynk integration—were working seamlessly.
- Improve data transmission stability with ThingSpeak, ensuring consistent real-time humidity monitoring.
2. Poster Development
To effectively present our project, we designed a poster that included:
- A clear project overview explaining the purpose and significance of the intelligent humidifier.
- A system architecture diagram, illustrating hardware and software integration.
- Key features, such as automatic humidity control, mobile app connectivity, and IoT data monitoring.
- A summary of our methodology, results, and future improvements.
- Visual elements such as circuit schematics, workflow diagrams, and real-time monitoring screenshots from ThingSpeak and Blynk.
3. Blog Development
We refined our blog content to provide a structured and detailed documentation of our project. The blog now includes:
- A detailed description of our design process, from hardware assembly to software implementation.
- Weekly progress updates, outlining the challenges faced and solutions implemented.
- Images and screenshots showcasing the hardware setup, software interface, and real-time monitoring dashboards.
- A Future Work section discussing potential enhancements, such as improving the exterior design and adding voice control with a KY-037 microphone module.
4. Bench Inspection Preparation
In preparation for the bench inspection, we:
- Conducted a final system check to verify all components were functioning correctly.
- Prepared to demonstrate the key functionalities, including:
- Real-time humidity monitoring with the DHT22 sensor.
- Automatic and manual humidifier control via the Blynk app.
- IoT integration with ThingSpeak for real-time data logging.
- Reviewed our presentation strategy, ensuring that we could clearly explain our design choices, implementation steps, and system operation.
By the end of the week, we had finalized the software, completed the poster, updated the blog, and ensured system readiness for the bench inspection.
